Overall the house is in good shape; the downstairs is pretty nice already, and what's great is that the seller left us several pieces of furniture as well..so between those and some stuff we've been able to scavenge here & there (Alain's dad, sidewalks, etc.) the living area is pretty much furnished already!

The inside feels really different from our house, since it still has its original walls & French doors (whereas ours is much more open), but my parents like the European, smaller-room feeling of it. Here's the cute little entry, which we embellished with a consignment-store chandelier find..

The kitchen is kind of funky, but basically functional for now..
..And the backyard is lovely. Here's a picture taken this summer when my parents hosted their first dinner:

The upstairs bedrooms are going to need some serious updating, which is what I'll be focusing on in the coming months. Right now I'm in the process of doing demo in what will be the master bedroom (tearing down 2 layers of wallpaper, sanding & repainting baseboards, and sometime soon, plastering & repainting walls - with a little help from Alain!) Later this week I'll post some "before" & "during" photos of that, which hopefully will help keep me motivated..!

The house looks adorable inside and out! You guys have done a great job so far... can't wait to visit both houses in person some day.
